With so many streaming services competing for our attention, sometimes it is nice to simply turn on a movie channel and see what is playing.

That is one of the things I like about MovieSphere.

MovieSphere is a 24-hour Lionsgate movie channel featuring a mix of Hollywood hits, comedies, dramas, thrillers, action movies, independent films, and other favorites. Instead of scrolling through hundreds of titles, you can tune in and watch whatever happens to be scheduled.

I personally receive MovieSphere through Fubo, where it appears alongside the other live channels in my guide.

You may also come across MovieSphere+ and MovieSphere Gold, but they are not simply upgraded versions of the same channel. MovieSphere+ is an ad-free on-demand service, while MovieSphere Gold is a separate linear movie network.

In this MovieSphere review, I’ll break down what it offers, where you can watch it, what it costs, and whether it is worth watching in 2026.

For viewers who still enjoy the simplicity of channel surfing, MovieSphere offers a familiar experience in a modern streaming format.

Think of MovieSphere as a traditional movie channel delivered through streaming rather than another Netflix-style subscription service.

What Kind of Movies Are on MovieSphere?

MovieSphere pulls heavily from the Lionsgate film library, so the schedule includes a broad mix of genres rather than focusing on just one type of movie.

You can expect to see:

MovieSphere is available through both free FAST platforms and paid live-TV streaming services.

Two current ways to watch are:

• Fubo — MovieSphere is available as a live channel within Fubo’s lineup.

Lionsgate also lists MovieSphere across multiple streaming platforms, although availability can vary by service and device.

I personally watch MovieSphere through Fubo, where it appears right in my live channel guide. That makes it convenient because I do not need another app or separate subscription just to watch the channel.

As with many FAST channels, distribution can change over time, so it is always a good idea to check your current streaming service to see whether MovieSphere is included.

Is MovieSphere Free?

Yes. MovieSphere can be watched for free, which is one of the channel’s biggest advantages.

For example, Pluto TV carries MovieSphere as a free live channel, and Pluto TV does not require a paid subscription. The tradeoff is advertising during the movies.

MovieSphere is also available through Fubo, but that works differently. Fubo is a paid live-TV streaming service, so MovieSphere is included as part of your Fubo package rather than being a separate subscription.

So the key point is simple:

MovieSphere itself does not charge you a standalone monthly fee to watch the live channel.

If you watch it through a free FAST service, it costs nothing. If you watch it through Fubo, the cost is part of your existing Fubo subscription.

MovieSphere Pricing in 2026

MovieSphere does not have traditional subscription plans. The live channel is either free on supported FAST services or included as part of a paid TV package such as Fubo.

MovieSphere+ is a separate paid service, not an upgraded version of the MovieSphere live channel.

MovieSphere Gold has its own distribution, so I’ll cover it separately below rather than treat it as another MovieSphere pricing tier.

What Is MovieSphere+?

MovieSphere+ is different from the regular MovieSphere live channel.

It is Lionsgate’s ad-free, on-demand movie service, available through Prime Video Channels. Instead of tuning in to whatever MovieSphere has scheduled, MovieSphere+ lets you choose from its available movie library and watch on demand. Lionsgate describes it as a collection of hits and cult classics with no ads.

The regular price is $4.99 per month.

MovieSphere vs. MovieSphere+

If you enjoy channel surfing, regular MovieSphere may be enough. If you prefer choosing exactly what you watch and avoiding commercials, MovieSphere+ is the better fit.

What Is MovieSphere Gold?

MovieSphere Gold is a separate movie network from MovieSphere, not a premium tier or upgrade.

Launched by Lionsgate and Debmar-Mercury, MovieSphere Gold is a linear digital movie network built around Lionsgate films, fan favorites, and themed movie marathons. Debmar-Mercury describes it as a contemporary movie network featuring premium films backed by Lionsgate.

The main difference is how the two channels are distributed. MovieSphere is primarily a FAST streaming channel, while MovieSphere Gold is designed more like a traditional television network and is distributed through participating broadcast stations and TV providers.

I receive regular MovieSphere on Fubo, but I do not currently have MovieSphere Gold in my Fubo lineup.

My Experience Watching MovieSphere on Fubo

My experience with MovieSphere comes through Fubo, which is the live-TV streaming service I already use.

MovieSphere appears right in my Fubo channel guide, so I do not need to open another app, create another account, or pay for a separate MovieSphere subscription. I can simply check the guide, see what is playing, and watch if something catches my attention.

That convenience is one of the things I like about traditional-style movie channels.

On-demand streaming gives us plenty of choices, but sometimes there can be too many choices. There are nights when I would rather turn on a movie that is already playing than spend 15 or 20 minutes scrolling through menus trying to decide what to watch.

Since MovieSphere is already part of my Fubo lineup, it gives me another movie option without adding another monthly bill.

MovieSphere Pros and Cons

Like any movie channel, MovieSphere has some clear strengths and a few drawbacks.

• MovieSphere, MovieSphere+, and MovieSphere Gold have very similar names, which can be confusing.

For viewers who enjoy traditional-style movie channels and do not mind commercials, the pros outweigh the cons.

How Does MovieSphere Compare to Other Movie Channels?

MovieSphere has plenty of competition, but many of its competitors target somewhat different audiences.

For example, MOVIES! places considerably more emphasis on classic Hollywood films, westerns, film noir, and older movies. Its current programming includes classic-film blocks such as Sunday Night Noir and older titles featuring stars from Hollywood’s past.

FMC — Family Movie Classics also concentrates on classic movies, with an emphasis on timeless films suitable for a broad audience. FMC describes itself as the home of classic movies starring some of Hollywood’s biggest legends.

MovieSphere generally feels more contemporary than either of those channels.

Then there is MovieSphere Gold, which shares Lionsgate DNA with MovieSphere but operates more like a traditional digital broadcast movie network.

I wouldn’t necessarily say one is better than another.

It depends on what kind of movies you enjoy.

If you love older Hollywood movies, MOVIES! or FMC may be more appealing.

If you’d rather see more recent Hollywood films and Lionsgate titles, MovieSphere may be the better fit.

For cord-cutters who still enjoy the simplicity of a traditional movie channel, MovieSphere is an easy one to recommend.

It gives you a rotating mix of movies, can be watched free on supported FAST platforms, and does not require a standalone MovieSphere subscription. Since I already receive it through Fubo, MovieSphere costs me nothing extra.

MovieSphere is not perfect. You will have commercials, and you cannot choose exactly what is playing. But if you enjoy turning on a channel and seeing what catches your attention, that can actually be part of the appeal.
